Why I started NK
I am Nestor Velasquez — Nestor to the crew. I grew up in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. After Hurricane Maria took the grid down for months in 2017, I moved my family to Orlando, where I had already worked nine years dispatching crews for a national-franchise mover off Semoran Boulevard.
What I saw at that franchise pushed me to open NK in 2014. Every job got resold to whatever crew the system spit out. Nobody walked the estimate. Nobody saw the truck through to the destination. I wanted a moving company where the owner signs every binding figure at the desk himself and the same uniformed crew rides from origin to drop.

Who you meet on move day
Marcus Okafor runs the North Orlando crews — Pine Hills, Apopka, Winter Garden, Ocoee. Tariq Bennett runs South Orlando and the long-hauls — Lake Nona, Hunter’s Creek, Kissimmee, plus the I-95 and I-75 routes. Between them they have seventeen years on NK trucks.
“Every estimate at NK gets walked by me. Every binding figure gets signed by me. That is the only way I know to keep an Orlando moving company honest.”
